Preparation
Ensure the surfaces is clean, dry and free from dirt and grease as this may affect adhesion.>
- Abrade previously painted wood and metal to provide a key.
- Fill any gaps, cracks, or holes with a suitable exterior filler, for wood we recommend .
- Bare wood - treat any knots or resinous deposits with a stain blocker or knotting solution, then prime with one coat of before applying Sandtex One Coat Exterior Gloss.
- Apply a suitable metal primer on any bare metal surfaces.
Application
Always ensure to perform a test patch prior to applying the paint to ensure you are happy with the finished results. Do not apply when there is a risk of rain, frost or the temperature is likely to fall below 8°C during drying.
- Always stir the paint to ensure consistent colour.
- Apply using a brush and load generously with Sandtex One Coat Gloss.
- Due to this being a one coat paint avoid overspreading.
- Allow to dry for 16 hours.
- If you are covering strong or dark colours you may require more than one coat.
